1. The defendant faces one charge of causing death by dangerous driving, contrary to section 36(1) of the Road Traffic Ordinance, Cap 374 (hereinafter referred to as “Charge 1”) and another charge of using a defective vehicle, contrary to regulations 28(2) and 121(1) of the Road Traffic Ordinance, Cap 374 (hereinafter referred to as “Charge 2”).
