Coram: Rigby, S.P.J. Date of Judgment: 24 September 1969 ----------------- JUDGMENT ----------------- 1. The appellant was convicted of possession of dangerous drugs for that purposes of trafficking therein. He was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment, and he now appeals against that sentence. 2. The facts of the case were that in the early evening of 14th July, a police party carried out a surprise raid in a narrow lane leading to Des Voeux Road. In the course of the raid they found a number of Chinese gathered round a wooden box placed in the lane. On the box were bowls containing packets of dangerous drugs. The appellant was seen sitting behind the box, but he was arrested as he ran away. There was the evidence of one police officer that he had a cloth bag tied round his neck, containing a quantity of money. There was ample evidence to establish that he was caught red-handed selling these dangerous drugs. 3. There were substantial quantities of dangerous drugs involved and the appellant has a number of previous convictions of precisely the same type of offence. I am satisfied that there are no grounds whatsoever for interfering with the sentence and the appeal is accordingly dismissed. Representation: Appellant in person.
