1. The Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, Cap. 486, seeks to protect the privacy of all persons in relation to information which is personal to them. If an employer (a data user) wishes to collect in a recorded form personal data of its employees (data subjects), it may only do so to the extent provided for, and in a manner specified, in the Ordinance.
