1. The Plaintiff, Mr. Mak, suffered from abdominal pain and vomiting in August 2003. He was admitted to the Caritas Medical Centre in Shamshuipo (" CMC ") for treatment. On 25 August 2003, an ultrasound examination was conducted on him by Dr. Lorraine Ho. She diagnosed him as suffering from gallstones. Mr. Mak was treated with analgesics and discharged on 26 August 2003, a cholecystectomy being arranged for 31 October 2003. After discharge, Mr. Mak continued to have abdominal pain and vomit
