COURT: The accused, you stand convicted of one charge of trafficking in heroin. It is to your credit that you stand so convicted on your own plea of guilty. The quantity involved is 169.39 grammes of mixture containing 108.47 grammes of heroin hydrochloride. In my view the appropriate starting point for that quantity is about 9½ years’ imprisonment.

I have listened to the mitigation offered on your behalf by your counsel. I have also read the letter you have written to the court. Having taken everything into account, and particularly your plea of guilty, I sentence you to 6 years and 4 months’ imprisonment.
