The drugs involved are 27.23 grammes of a crystalline solid containing 27.11 grammes of methamphetamine hydrochloride. I consider that the appropriate starting point for this count to be in the region of 7½ years' imprisonment. I have taken into account everything ably urged on your behalf in mitigation, particularly your plea of guilty. I think that a discount reducing the sentence to one of 5 years is appropriate. I therefore sentence you to 5 years' imprisonment. |
