COURT: Chan Sui-cheung, you stand convicted of one charge of trafficking in ketamine.
It is to your credit that you stand so convicted on your own plea of guilty at the Magistrates’ Court.
The quantity involved is 465.80 grammes of a powder containing 391.04 grammes of ketamine.
In my view, the appropriate starting point for that quantity of drugs is about 10 years.
I have taken into account everything that has been urged on your behalf by your counsel, including your plea of guilty and the fact that there are special circumstances on the papers which justify a lenient view being taken of the facts.I sentence you to 5 years' imprisonment.
You are therefore sentenced to 5 years' imprisonment.
