COURT: Chung Ho-yi, you stand convicted on your own plea of guilty of one charge of trafficking in a dangerous drug. You have pleaded guilty at the Magistrates’ Court and have been committed to the High Court for sentence.
The quantity of drugs involved is 489.90 grammes of a solid containing 360.96 grammes of cocaine. For that quantity of drugs I adopt a starting point of 14 years’ imprisonment. I have taken into account everything urged in mitigation on your behalf, including your plea of guilty and your co‑operation with the police upon your arrest, for which I shall give you the full one-third discount, reducing the starting point to one of 9 years and 4 months.
You are therefore sentenced to 9 years and 4 months’ imprisonment.
