COURT: Yip Wun-pan, you stand convicted of one charge of trafficking in a dangerous drug.
You have pleaded guilty at the Magistrates’ Court and have been committed to the High Court for sentence.
The quantity of drugs involved is 246.47 grammes of a powder containing 195.88 grammes of ketamine. For that quantity of drugs, I take a starting point of 8 years.
I have taken into account everything urged in mitigation on your behalf, including your co‑operation and your plea of guilty. I shall give you the full one-third discount, and I will sentence you to 5 years and 4 months’ imprisonment.
