COURT: Accused, I have taken into account everything that has been very ably urged on your behalf.

You stand convicted on your own plea of guilty of one charge of trafficking in a dangerous drug involving 0.99 kilogramme of a powder containing 0.71 kilogramme of ketamine.

In all the circumstances I will adopt the starting point urged by your counsel, that is 12 years.

Having considered everything urged in mitigation on your behalf, particularly your early plea of guilty and your cooperation with the police, I shall give you the full one-

third discount thereby reducing your sentence from that starting point to one of 8 years’ imprisonment.

You will therefore go to prison for 8 years.
