COURT: The accused, you stand convicted of one charge of trafficking in a dangerous drug. You have pleaded guilty at the Magistrates’ Court and you have been committed to this court for sentence.
I have taken into account everything said in mitigation on your behalf.
The quantity of drugs involved is 1.26 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 0.63 kilogramme of heroin hydrochloride.
These drugs were imported into Hong Kong and therefore call for enhancement.
All things considered, I adopt a starting point of 20 years’ imprisonment and enhance it by 1 year, making a total of 21 years.
Having taken into account everything that has been said in mitigation on your behalf, including your plea of guilty and your co‑operation with the police, I shall give you the full one‑third discount, thereby reducing the starting point to one of 14 years’ imprisonment.
You are therefore sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment.
