COURT: You have pleaded guilty in the magistrates’ court to trafficking in a dangerous drugs consisting of 0.96 kilogramme of a powder containing 0.81 kilogramme of ketamine and have been committed to this court for sentence.
I have taken into account everything said on your behalf in your mitigation. In my view, it is appropriate to adopt a starting point of 13 years imprisonment. The only real mitigation available to you is your plea of guilty. For that I give you a discount of one-third.
Accordingly, I sentence you to 8 years and 8 months imprisonment.
