COURT: Accused, you stand convicted on your own plea of guilty of one count of trafficking in a dangerous drug. I have taken into account everything said on your behalf.
The quantity of drugs involved is 0.48 kilogramme of a mixture containing 0.21 kilogramme of heroin hydrochloride. These drugs were imported into Hong Kong and therefore calls for enhancement.
All things considered, I adopt a starting point of 12 years’ imprisonment, enhance it by 6 months, making a total of 12½ years.
Having taken into account everything said on your behalf, including your plea of guilty and your co-operation with the police, I shall give you the full one-third discount thereby reducing the starting point to one of 8 years and 4 months’ imprisonment.
You are therefore sentenced to 8 years and 4 months’ imprisonment.
