COURT: If it were not for the excellent security system at Amoy Gardens, you would probably, and quite literally, have got away with murder. As it is, the CCTV system picked up the fact that Chun Ka-yee went inside her block and up to her flat at 4.15 pm on 5 October 2011 and she was never seen again outside her flat. There was, of course, one person who saw her inside her flat and that was her killer.

Arising from those CCTV pictures, a very thorough police investigation was conducted over the next two years.

You have been convicted on overwhelming circumstantial evidence of the murder of Chun Ka-yee. You visited her on 6 October and for reasons which you have never divulged, you murdered her. She had been your mistress for something like two years and this was at a time when the affair was at an end.

The CCTV pictures showed how you wheeled her dead body out of her flat on 7 October and it was concealed in a very large check-patterned nylon bag. How you disposed of her body and, indeed, even how you killed her, has never been divulged by you, but that you were the killer has been very clearly revealed as the jury has found.

There is only one sentence for murder. Your sentence is that you go to prison for life.
