--------------------------------- Transcript of the Audio Recording --------------------------------- COURT: The accused, I have taken into account everything that has been urged on your behalf. You stand convicted of one count of trafficking in a dangerous drug. The quantity of drugs involved is 89.24 grammes of a crystalline solid containing 86.01 grammes of methamphetamine hydrochloride, commonly known as ‘Ice’. All things considered, I adopt a starting of 11½ years’ imprisonment. I have taken into account everything urged on your behalf, including your plea of guilty, and also the fact that it is accepted by the prosecution that 10 per cent of those drugs seized, the subject matter of the count, is of your own consumption. I shall give you a discount of slightly more than one third, reducing the starting point to one of 7 years and 3 months’ imprisonment. You are therefore sentenced to 7 years and 3 months’ imprisonment. |
