_________________ Before: Hon Cheung CJHC and Lam VP in Court Date of Hearing: 23 January 2018 Date of Judgment: 23 January 2018 Date of Reasons for Judgment: 23 March 2018 _________________________ REASONS FOR JUDGMENT _________________________ Hon Cheung CJHC (giving the reasons for judgment of the court): 1.On 23 January 2018, we refused bail pending appeal for want of reasonably arguable grounds of appeal. We reserved our reasons. 2.By a judgment of even date ([2018] HKCA 173), this court (comprising also Poon JA) dismissed the respondent’s appeal with full reasons. These reasons also explain why we found that the respondent had presented no reasonably arguable grounds of appeal when applying for bail, which we dismissed accordingly. We also ordered costs to be in the cause of the appeal.
