Reasons for Sentence

------------------------

1.Mr Singh, please stand up.

2.I am not going to repeat the facts.  This is a case of careless driving with serious consequence.  The victim was seriously injured as a result, so I am considering imposing a fine plus a period of disqualification.

3.I understand that you have expressly intended to plead guilty to careless driving.  That should be a credit.

4.I am considering a fine of $3,000 plus a period of disqualification, which shall be 2 months.  You shall not drive any vehicle in the future 2 months from today and, first of all, you have $5,000 cash.

5.I am just given your blue traffic record, which contained two records for fine - driving a motor cycle or motor tricycle without the lamps lighted...

(Discussion between court and prosecuting counsel re tendering of traffic record)

6....failing to comply with road markings, which again is a fine, $450 - which has no relevance to our present case.

7.I continue with the fine.  You have $5,000 cash bail.  I understand you agree to deduct from your bail for your fine.
