Chan in Chambers (Not Open to Public) Date of Decision: 17 December 2020 ________________________ D E C I S I O N (Summary Assessment of Costs) ________________________ 1.On 4 September 2020, the Petitioner filed a summons for the Respondent to comply with previous court order for the filing of the Respondent’s Form E forthwith. The return date was fixed on 19 November 2020. The Respondent’s Form E was eventually filed on 16 November 2020 and so the hearing on 19 November 2020 has become unnecessary. The parties then signed a consent summons to vacate the hearing with costs to the Petitioner payable by the Respondent forthwith and such costs are to be summarily assessed by this court. 2.The Petitioner’s solicitors lodged their statement of costs on 2 December 2020, and the Respondent’s solicitors’ objections were lodged on 7 December 2020. After considering their respective statement and objections, the Petitioner’s costs for the summons are now summarily assessed as follows:
3.I hereby order the Respondent to pay costs for the Petitioner’s summons filed on 4 September 2020 summarily assessed at $20,000 forthwith.
