J U D G M E N T

1. This was an appeal against a sentence of 15 months for possession of a forged Hong Kong identity card and being in Hong Kong illegally. This was a perfectly proper sentence in all of the circumstances. However, Mr Wilson Chan, who appeared on the appeal, produced documentation regarding the illness of the appellant's daughter and mother. Taking that into account, I felt that on humanitarian grounds I could reduce the sentence so that she could be released immediately.
