(Summary Assessment of Costs)

1.On 7 March 2025, this court handed down a Decision dismissing the Respondent (“W”)’s application for leave to appeal against the court’s judgment dated 12 December 2024 (in respect of W’s appeal against Master June Cheung’s order made on 15 December 2023). Costs were also ordered against W to be summarily assessed, of which I now do.

2.In his statement of costs, the Petitioner (“H”) claims costs in the sum of HK$60,014 (including counsel fees of HK$23,000). After considering H’s statement of costs, I now summarily assess his costs at HK$50,000, payable by W forthwith.
