The Applicant is a 31-year-old national of Nepal who arrived in Hong Kong on 18 July 2017 under the dependent visa of his wife who was a Hong Kong resident, but upon their subsequent separation and the expiration of his dependent visa on 18 July 2021, the Applicant did not depart and instead overstayed in Hong Kong, and was arrested by police more than 2 years later on 4 December 2023.
