1.This is a petition presented by American Express International, Inc. against the debtor, Mr Douglas Weir, based on a judgment debt in DCCJ No. 16181 of 2001 obtained on 19 October 2001. The amount of the judgment debt is HK$113,460.89 with interest.

2.On 9 January 2002, the petitioner published the statutory demand in a newspaper, having failed to serve it on the debtor personally notwithstanding reasonable efforts. On 13 March 2002, the petition was presented and an order for substituted service of the petition was obtained on 21 June 2002, that order has been complied with.

3.I understand from the debtor today that he does not dispute the judgment debt and he has no ability to make payment. In the circumstances, I make a bankruptcy order against the debtor and that the petitioner is to have the costs of this petition.
