J U D G M E N T

1. This was an appeal against a sentence of 12 months in relation to immigration matters. The appellant was an illegal immigrant. In his reasons for sentence, the learned magistrate as an act of mercy reduced the normal tariff from 15 months to 12 months. In the course of hearing this appeal, I was moved to further reduce the sentence on humanitarian grounds to 9 months. I therefore allowed the appeal and reduced the sentence on all counts to 9 months. All to be served concurrently.
