1. The Appellant appeals against sentences imposed on him under case WSC-15166/97 concerning 4 charges of Theft contrary to Section 9 of the Theft Ordinance and 2 charges of Obtaining Pecuniary Advantage by Deception contrary to Section 18(1) of the Theft Ordinance, and a further case, WSC-15167/97 which involved 7 charges of Theft and 3 charges of Obtaining Pecuniary Advantage by Deception. The charges related to offences where the Appellant was alleged to have applied for credit cards in the name of others and used those cards to unlawfully obtain cash and goods.

2. Today the Appellant advised the court that he wished to abandon his appeal and confirmed that he had seen the Magistrate's reasons for sentence. The Magistrate sentences were 9 months in respect of 15166 and 12 months in respect of 15167 which were ordered to run consecutively.

3. I note that I consider the Magistrate's sentence entirely appropriate.

4. The appeal against sentence is dismissed.
