JUDGMENT

1. This is an appeal against sentence. The Appellant pleaded Guilty to possession of dangerous drugs for the purpose of unlawful trafficking and to smoking a dangerous drug. The record reads:

I take that to be an absolute discharge on the second charge with a conviction recorded.

2. The Appellant advances as his only ground of appeal that he has a mother of over seventy in China whom he wishes to visit. That was the substance of his plea in mitigation in the court below.

3. The Appellant has a number of previous convictions including one for this particular offence in 1972 when he was sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment.

4. I see no reason to interfere with this sentence and the appeal is dismissed.
