1. This assessment relates to injuries received by the Plaintiff at work in August 1978. At that time he was aged 16 and was operating a plastic moulding machine in the defendant's factory. His right hand was caught by the machine and his fingers crushed. He was taken into Princess Margaret Hospital where, in two operations, his right middle, index and ring fingers were amputated to proximal phaloux level.
