1. The Plaintiff is an authorised insurer that carried on the business of providing and selling life insurance policies throughout Kong Kong. The Defendant was its agent for the purpose of marketing and selling the Plaintiff’s life insurance policies and carrying services to the Plaintiff’s policyholders. The Defendant’s agency relationship with the Plaintiff ceased with effect from 3 rd June 2002. The Defendant was registered as a life insurance agent with American International Assurance Co (B
