The applicant seeks leave to appeal against his sentence of 20 years' imprisonment for trafficking in a large quantity of dangerous drugs. The application is made out of time and no satisfactory explanation has been forthcoming for the delay. 2. The applicant has however written an impassioned letter setting out his very unfortunate family background and circumstances. 3. Nothing which the applicant says in any way indicates that the sentence which was imposed upon him was either manifestly excessive or wrong in principle and this being the case this application would have no prospect of success even if we were minded to grant leave for the application to proceed out of time. The application is therefore dismissed.
