COURT: Accused, you stand convicted of one charge of trafficking in heroin. It is to your credit that you stand so convicted on your own plea of guilty at the Magistrates’ Court.

The quantity involved is 1,585.92 grammes of a mixture containing 856.81 grammes of heroin hydrochloride. Having heard submissions by your counsel, I am persuaded that I should adopt the starting point of 21 years for that quantity of drugs. Having taken into account everything that has been urged on your behalf, particularly your plea of guilty, I sentence you to 14 years’ imprisonment. You are therefore sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment.
