of the Sentence in the above Case

------------------------------------------

COURT: Chu Kwun-fung, you stand convicted on your own plea of guilty on one charge of trafficking in a dangerous drug.

The drugs involved is huge, being 4.93 kilogrammes of a powder containing 3.79 kilogrammes of ketamine. I consider the appropriate starting point for that amount of drugs to be in the region of 18 years’ imprisonment.

Having taken into account everything your counsel has urged in mitigation on your behalf, particularly your plea of guilty and your co-operation with the police, I shall give you the full one-third discount thereby reducing the sentence to one of 12 years’ imprisonment.

You are therefore sentenced to 12 years’ imprisonment.
