DCCC1125/2010 IN THE DISTRICT COURT OF THE HONG KONGSPECIAL ADMINISTRATIVE REGION CRIMINAL CASE NO. 1125 OF 2010 ----------------------
----------------------
--------------------- Reasons for Sentence --------------------- 1.You admitted one count of trafficking in dangerous drugs. Facts revealed that on 15 July this year, inside a carpark at Hang Mei Tsuen, Ping Ha Road, Tin Shui Wai, Yuen Long, and inside a container, you had in your possession a total of eight bags of dangerous drugs, including six bags containing a total of 95.68 grammes of powder containing 68.95 grammes of ketamine, and two bags containing a total of 0.56 gramme of a solid containing 0.55 gramme of cocaine. 2.You admitted you had these drugs for the purpose of trafficking, and the street value of these drugs was about HK$11,000. 3.According to the sentencing guideline, for 50 to 300 grammes of ketamine, the sentence should be 6 to 9 years after trial; and for cocaine of not more than 10 grammes, the sentence should be 2 to 5 years after trial. Therefore, following that guideline, I will take 6 and a half years as the starting point. Because of your plea and the mitigation put forward by your counsel, I reduce it to 4 years and 4 months.
