COURT: Lee Shing-ming, you stand convicted on one count of trafficking in a dangerous drug.
The quantity of drugs involved is 53.95 grammes of a crystalline solid containing 49.38 grammes of methamphetamine hydrochloride.
For that quantity of drugs, I adopt a starting point of 8½ years’ imprisonment.
I have taken into account everything urged in mitigation on your behalf, including your co‑operation with the police and your guilty plea. I shall give you a slightly more than one‑third discount, reducing the starting point to 5½ years’ imprisonment.
You will therefore be sentenced to 5½ years’ imprisonment.
