COURT: Wong Yan-kam, you stand convicted on your own plea of guilty of one charge of trafficking in a dangerous drug.
The drugs involved are 398.40 grammes of a crystalline solid containing 394.44 grammes of methamphetamine hydrochloride, commonly known as “Ice”.
For that quantity of drugs, I adopt a starting point of 15 years, as suggested by your counsel.
I have taken into account every thing urged on your behalf and I have considered the contents of the two letters which have been handed up to me.
Having considered all of them, in particular your plea of guilty and your co-operation with the police, I shall reduce the sentence to one of 10 years’ imprisonment from the starting point of 15 years’ imprisonment.
You will therefore go to prison for 10 years.
