JUDGMENT

1. The appellant pleaded guilty to four charges of robbery, one of the robberies occurred on a staircase and the other three took place in lifts. Three of the Victims were women and a knife was used in each case.

2. The appellant has a bad record including convictions for twelve charges of robbery. He was sentenced by the District Court Judge to fifteen months on each charge, the sentences to be consecutive, making a total of five years in all.

3. We do not think that the sentence of five years is too great, taking into consideration the circumstances of the robberies and the record of the appellant. However, we think that each separate charge should reflect the seriousness of the offence in its sentence. We allow the appeal to the extent of varying the sentence imposed in the court below and substitute a sentence of five years for each of the four charges, the sentences to be concurrent.
