COURT: Chow Chor-shing, you stand convicted of one charge of trafficking in a dangerous drug. You have pleaded guilty at the Magistrates’ Court and have been committed to the High Court for sentence.

The quantity of drugs involved is 13.22 grammes of a crystalline solid and 0.22 gramme of a powder containing 12.99 grammes of methamphetamine hydrochloride, and 0.14 gramme of a powder containing 0.05 gramme of ketamine.

For that quantity of drugs, I adopt a starting point of 7 years.

I have taken into account everything urged on your behalf by your counsel. There is really no real mitigation apart from your early plea of guilty, for which I shall give you the full one-third discount, reducing the starting point to one of 4 years and 8 months.

You are therefore sentenced to 4 years and 8 months’ imprisonment.
