COURT: Hung Chan-wa, you stand convicted on your own plea of guilty of one charge of trafficking in a dangerous drug.
The drugs involved are 1.05 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 0.87 kilogrammes of heroin hydrochloride.
In my view the appropriate starting point for that quantity of drugs would be in the region of 21 years’ imprisonment.
I have considered everything urged in mitigation on your behalf, particularly your plea of guilty and your cooperation with the police.
I consider that a discount reducing the sentence to one of 14 years’ imprisonment to be appropriate.
You are therefore sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment.
