COURT: Defendant, there is no need to stand, I do not propose to say very much which will only add to your anguish at this time.
Only you will know what happened on the night of 26/27 October 2010 but what is clear is that the jury have unanimously rejected any suggestion that you were provoked into killing Miss Yu.
It seems to me to be a case more of obsession than of infatuation.
In any event, my hands are tied by section 2 of the Offences Against the Person Ordinance, Cap. 212. The only sentence
that I can pass upon you is one of life imprisonment and that is the order of the court.
