COURT: Chow Tai-hing, you stand convicted of one charge of trafficking in a dangerous drug. You have pleaded guilty at the Magistrates’ Court and you have been committed to this court for sentence.
I have taken into account everything urged in mitigation on your behalf.
The quantity involved in this case is 231.89 grammes of a crystalline solid containing 215.45 grammes of methamphetamine hydrochloride.
All things considered, I adopt a starting point of 13 years, enhance it by six months, making a total of 13½ years’ imprisonment.
Having taken into account everything that has been urged on your behalf, including your cooperation with the police, I shall give you the full one-third discount thereby reducing the sentence to one of 9 years’ imprisonment.
You will therefore go to prison for 9 years.
