COURT: Leung Kin-pong, I have considered everything that has been ably urged on your behalf.
You stand convicted of one charge of trafficking in a dangerous drug. The quantity of drugs involved is 82.56 grammes of a mixture containing 79.24 grammes of methamphetamine hydrochloride.
These drugs were imported from across the border. Further, you have committed the present offence while you were on probation for a simple possession of drugs offence.
You do, however, have very strong family support.
All things considered, and dealing with you as leniently as I am able to, I adopt a starting point of 10½ years and enhance it by 1 year, making a total of 11½ years as a starting point.
Having taken into account everything urged in mitigation on your behalf, including your early plea of guilty, I shall give you the full one-third discount, reducing the starting point to one of 7 years and 8 months.
You will therefore go to prison for 7 years and 8 months.
