COURT: On the charge of murder, the law provides only one sentence can be imposed on you, and that is life imprisonment, and that is the sentence I impose.
On the 2nd count of fraud, I take a starting point of sentence of 5 years after trial. Because you have pleaded guilty to that charge, you will receive a discount of one‑third, and the sentence I impose is 3 years and 4 months’ imprisonment.
On the second count of fraud, I take a starting point after trial of 2 years’ imprisonment. Again, you will receive a discount of one-third by reason of the fact that you have pleaded guilty.
I will say nothing other than this, Mr Ng. Yours is a truly despicable crime.
