HCCC212/2012 IN THE HIGH COURT OF THE HONG KONG SPECIAL ADMINISTRATIVE REGION COURT OF FIRST INSTANCE CRIMINAL CASE NO. 212 OF 2012 -----------------
-----------------
--------------------------------- Transcript of the Audio Recording --------------------------------- COURT: Accused, you have pleaded guilty to one charge of trafficking in dangerous drugs at the Magistrates’ Court and you have been committed to this court today for sentence. The drugs involved in this case are 12.94 grammes of a powder containing 11.22 grammes of ketamine, and 16.77 grammes of a crystalline solid containing 16.71 grammes of methamphetamine hydrochloride. As to the appropriate approach to sentencing on a count of trafficking in “Ice” and ketamine, I will follow the approach indicated by the Court of Appeal in the case of Wong Kin Kau decided on 4 May in 2010. In following that approach, I will do so in the context of everything urged on your behalf. Having taken into account everything urged in mitigation on your behalf, and all things considered, I adopt a starting point of 7½ years’ imprisonment. You have pleaded guilty, and I shall give you the full one-third discount. You are therefore sentenced to 5 years’ imprisonment. |
