The 1st sentence of paragraph 27 should read:

“In recent years, when applying the welfare principle under section 3(1) of the GMO, judges in the Family Court[1] have consistently adopted, with minor modifications to suit the local circumstances, the matters specified in section 1(3) of the English Children Act 1989, which have now come to be known as “the welfare checklist”.
