of the Sentence in the above Case

---------------------------------

COURT: Accused, I have taken into account everything urged by your counsel on your behalf. All things considered, for this robbery in which a substantial sum of money was taken, a number of robbers were involved and the victim was both struck on the head and then menaced with a pipe made of metal, I adopt a starting point of 9 years’ imprisonment.

Having regard to all the circumstances, including your previous good character, I will discount that by half a year to arrive at a sentence of 8½ years’ imprisonment.

I therefore sentence you to 8½ years’ imprisonment.

Please refer to CACC110/2013 for the relevant appeal(s) to the Court of Appeal.
