JUDGMENT

________________________

1.  The Appellant appeals against a sentence of 15 months’ imprisonment for trafficking in dangerous drugs. She actually sold a quantity of drugs to a seaman of the U.S. Navy who was acting under the instructions of an officer. This was a trap deliberately set in conjunction with the Royal Hong Kong Police Force and a serious aspect of the case is that the Appellant used her daughter, aged 9, to carry the drugs for her.

2.  The Appellant had a clear record but, even bearing that fully in mind, it seems to me that the sentence was an entirely proper one and this appeal must be dismissed.

3rd April 1973.
