COURT: Accused, you stand convicted of one charge of trafficking in a dangerous drug, and that is upon your plea of guilty. The quantity of drugs involved is 16.04 grammes of a crystalline solid containing 15.65 grammes of methamphetamine hydrochloride.
I have taken everything urged in mitigation on your behalf. All things considered, I adopt a starting point of 7 years’ imprisonment. Having taken everything into account that has been urged in mitigation on your behalf, there is really no real mitigation apart from your plea of guilty for which I shall give you the full one-third discount thereby reducing the starting point to one of 4 years and 8 months.
You are therefore sentenced to 4 years and 8 months’ imprisonment.
