of the Sentence in the above Case

COURT: Accused, you stand convicted of one charge of trafficking in a dangerous drug, you having pleaded guilty at the Magistrates’ Court and you having been committed to this court for sentence today. The quantity of drugs involved is 13.86 grammes of a crystalline solid containing 13.73 grammes methamphetamine hydrochloride.
I have taken into account everything urged on your behalf and being as lenient as I can, I adopt a starting point of 7 years’ imprisonment. Having considered everything that has been urged on your behalf, particularly your plea of guilty and the fact that there are special circumstances on the papers which justify a lenient view being taken of the facts, I am prepared to reduce the sentence from that starting point to one of 3½ years’ imprisonment. You are therefore sentenced to 3½ years’ imprisonment.
