COURT: Huang Baoyi, I have taken into account everything urged on your behalf. You stand convicted of one count of trafficking in a dangerous drug. The quantity of drugs involved is 69.23 grammes of a mixture containing 57.2 grammes of heroin hydrochloride. These drugs were imported into Hong Kong from across the border.

All things considered, I adopt a starting point of 8 years, enhance it by 6 months, making a total of 8½ years. I have taken into account everything urged in mitigation on your behalf including your plea of guilty and I shall give you the full one-third discount, thereby reducing the starting point to one of 5 years and 8 months’ imprisonment.

You are therefore sentenced to 5 years and 8 months’ imprisonment.
