COURT: I have taken into account everything urged on your behalf.

You have pleaded guilty to one count of trafficking in a dangerous drug. The quantity of drugs involved is 1.99 kilogrammes of a crystalline solid containing 1.93 kilogrammes of methamphetamine hydrochloride.

These drugs were imported into Hong Kong from across the border.

All things considered, I adopt a starting point of 22½ years’ imprisonment as suggested by counsel, and enhance it by 2 years’ imprisonment making a total of 24½ years’ imprisonment.

Having taken everything urged on your behalf including your plea of guilty and your cooperation with the police, I shall give you the full one-third discount thereby reducing the starting point to one of 16 years and 4 months’ imprisonment.

I therefore sentence you to 16 years and 4 months’ imprisonment.
