New judgments

This is the appeal of the 1 st to 7 th defendants against the judgment of Deputy High Court Judge K C Chan in a mortgage action given on 8 November 2024 at the conclusion of the hearing of the originating summons. Reasons for the judgment were handed down on 15 November 2024 (“ Reasons for Judgment ”) [1] . The judge found no arguable defence or triable issue raised by the defendants. He therefore granted judgment to the plaintiff bank for the outstanding sum of HK$67,185,119.51 and RMB 16,01

申請人在2023年7月11日被聆案官頒令破產（「 該破產令 」）。2023年7月21日，申請人向法庭申請廢止該破產令，但被聆案官於2024年1月12日駁回（「 該命令 」）。2024年9月23日，申請人再向高等法院原訟法庭申請逾期上訴聆案官的該命令，但被余啟肇暫委法官在2025年2月18日駁回。

This is an appeal against the decision of Deputy High Court Judge Bruno Chan (“ Judge ”) on 17 July 2025 [1] refusing to grant leave to the applicant to apply for judicial review against the decision of the Director of Immigration (“ Director ”) dated 20 July 2020 refusing to allow the applicant to make a subsequent non-refoulement claim.

On 15 August 2025, this Court handed down our judgment ( [2025] HKCA 743 ) dismissing the applicant’s appeal against the decision of Deputy High Court Judge Philips Wong (“the Judge”) given on 2 May 2025 refusing him leave to apply for judicial review.

On 4 August 2025, this court handed down a judgment ( [2025] HKCA 699 ) dismissing the applicant’s appeal against the decision of Deputy High Court Judge To given on 14 February 2025 dismissing her application for leave to apply for judicial review.
