__________________ DECISION ON COSTS __________________ 1.I refer to my Decision handed down on 17 February 2023[1] and the costs order nisi I made therein at §39 against P. 2.In its Statement of Costs dated 1 March 2023, D claims costs in the total sum of HK$185,986. 3.I have considered P’s Statement of Objections of 15 March 2023. 4.I agree that C1, C2 and C3 are too high. I allowing only HK$50,000 in total. 5.Items D1, D2 and D3 are in my view also too high. I allow only HK$30,000. 6.I regard the other items claimed as being largely reasonable. 7.Adopting a broad-brush approach, I summarily assess the costs at HK$126,000. The total costs of HK59,994 suggested by P are in my view unrealistic. 8.I do not find the without prejudice correspondence provided by P relevant to this exercise. 9.Said to be for completeness, P has also provided to this court his statement of claim (together with the supplement) filed in March 2023 with the Labour Tribunal. Again, I do not see their relevance for this exercise.
